What does LEAD FREE Means?

Lead Free bullets have been designed with the aim to eliminate the use of hazardous materials. When you shoot traditional lead ammo, you are putting small lead particles into the air in many ways. For example, even with great ventilation, the air around shooters is often above toxic lead levels (over 50mg / m3), with ranges as low as 14mg / m3 to about 35,000mg / m3. That means, by shooting lead bullets at the range, you are putting your friends at the range at risk. Using lead-free ammunition is equivalent to all the other precautions you should take on the firing line, such as wearing protective caps and goggles, gloves, taking a shower after the shooting session.

You are also helping to avoid problems for workers and the environment. Think about it next time you’re on a shooting line.

What does it mean that the bullet is Anti-Ricochet?

A ricochet is a rebound, bounce, or skip off a surface, particularly in the case of a projectile. Most ricochets are caused by accident and while the force of the deflection decelerates the projectile, it can still be energetic and almost as dangerous as before the deflection. The possibility of ricochet is one of the reasons for the common firearms safety rule “Never shoot at a flat, hard surface.” Ricochets can occur with any caliber, and short or round ricocheting bullets may not produce the audible whine caused by tumbling irregular shapes . Ricochets are a hazard of shooting because, for as long as they retain sufficient velocity, ricocheting bullets or bullet fragments may cause collateral damage even to the person who fired the shot.  An Anti-Ricochet bullet therefore, in addition to limiting the possibility of collateral damage, is ideal for training sessions with a close target, such as the CQB training.

What does frangible bullet mean?

Frangible bullets are intended to disintegrate into tiny particles upon target impact to minimize their penetration of other objects.

Small particles are slowed more rapidly by non-target environments like air resistance, and are less likely to cause injury or damage to persons and objects distant from the point of bullet impact. Frangible ammunition is the perfect choice for close quarter battle (CQB) training environments, for use with close-range steel targets, for shooting ranges with poor ventilation, and for anyone looking to avoid excessive splashback common with fully jacketed lead core projectiles.
